With the swirl of the Christmas/Holiday Season, the weather, no time to do all that you need to do, things are just going to stay busy.  We have a number of activities in the works for December and should be fun for everyone.
 
Monday 12/3/18 Troop Meeting 7 PM to 9 PM, Lyon Center, SJB
Activities- Preparations are in earnest for the upcoming advancement campout and we will be reviewing the clothing and equipment scouts should have to insure a safe, comfortable event, see attached list. It's Winter Camping time, even if the temperature gets into the sixties.  Bring your Scout Book to the meeting (Always), We will be compiling a list of requirements for Saturday.
 
Camp Cone Campout, Saturday 12/8 to 12/9.
Camp Cone is located north of the Baltimore beltway off of Harford Road Rt 147.
Directions will be provided for the drivers.  We will be assisting the scouts in completing their requirements for Scout and Tenderfoot ranks  Patrols will be cooking their meals, adults will have their own table.
We will meet in the SJB parking lot at 8:30 AM Saturday, inspect the scouts and their equipment, (If a scout is unprepared he may have to get prepared before he can go.)
Scouts never think they are cold until its almost too late.
The Permission Slip is attached to this newsletter, please bring it to Monday's meeting.
As usual, we will be needing Parents to drive and pick up the scouts.  There is a signup block on the Permission Slip. Please sign up.

Plus/Delta for the Campout -  What was good and what do we need to change.
Preparations for the Christmas Party and Rank Advancement.
 
Eagle Court of Honor for Jesse Vega, Saturday 12/15,  3 PM, in the Lyon Center
Come and help Jesse celebrate his Achievements.  New Scouts especially should see what is possible for them in Scouting,  Come all.
 
Troop Meeting , Monday 12 /17/18, 7 PM to 9 PM SB Lyon Center.
ANNUAL TROOP CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY PARTY.
We will have our "Charlie Brown" tree decorating ceremony, (don't forget to bring a special ornament). We will also have some great Eats and a Yankee gift exchange.
Bring a wrapped gift, About a $5.00 value, and you can participate. 
 
After the Christmas party we will not have a meeting until January 7th, but we do have a very special event on December 29th, mark your calendars for...…….

Fall Court of Honor, Scouts will receive recognition for all of the advancement work they have completed since October 2018.  After the awards we will work on preparations for the Klondike Derby, Jan. 25, 26, 27..  More to come.

Preparations for Klondike Derby.
 
Klondike Derby,  2 night event at Little Bennett Regional Park, Clarksburg.
Patrols from Troops all aver Montgomery County will be competing in Scout Skills events. More to Come

Date: 6/3/2019 9:41 AM (GMT-05:00) For your Attention JJW     Hello everyone, This is Ezana Mekuanent . On June 8th I will be having my Eagle Scout project for Habitat for Humanity ReStore . It will be located at 12006 Plum Orchard Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20904. At the moment this project is planned to only need one day's worth of work however if that changes another date will added (will be addressed in the future). The project consist of us constructing selfing unit inside of the ReStore center that will be used to display carpets. Due to the fact that we will be using drilling tools I will be needing the older scouts. `for those who plan to come please bring working gloves. We will be providing water and food.
