Troop 1441 has been participating with Saint John the Baptist's Eco Ministry by assisting the  ECO group with their cleanup of New Hampshire Avenue from Venice Drive to the White Oak Library.     They will be holding their next session this Saturday morning (June 29th).  Volunteers from the troop are needed.   We will meet in the front of the Church at 9 AM.  We are usually finished before noon. Scouts, leaders and parents are invited to participate.  Class A uniforms.  Bring gloves and a water bottle.   You can earn Service Hours for your participation.   I know we leave for camp the following day but come out and help anyway.  Let me know if you can make it.(return e-mail) JJW Scoutmaster
To Campers If you are traveling to camp by bus, Please be at the Fairfax Government Center pickup location by 9 AM Sunday Morning. Directions attached.   If you are traveling to camp by car, plan to arrive at 1 PM.   Attached is a  Program schedule and a Trails Head Schedule    JJW 301-728-2858
To All I have attached a good copy of the health advisory that needs to be signed and a page providing the Camp Mailing address, contact information and instructions. In the past if you wanted to mail something to your son you had to do it Monday or Tuesday of this week for it to get there next week. It is still the same. See you tomorrow at the pre camp meeting or at the camp. JJw

It will be located at 12006 Plum Orchard Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20904. At the moment this project is planned to only need one day's worth of work however if that changes another date will added (will be addressed in the future). The project consist of us constructing selfing unit inside of the ReStore center that will be used to display carpets. TROOP 1441    SCOUTS BSA June 3, 2019 We are jumping into June already, seems like we just said, "Happy New Year".  Summer Camp (June 30), is coming up quickly and so is our Philmont High Adventure trip (7/20/2019).  The Scouts and Adults have been preparing for Philmont with weekend trips backpacking locally, trying out their equipment and tooling up their Skills.       The Troop will be taking 15 scouts and 6 leaders to Camp Olmsted, Goshen Scout Reservation in Goshen Virginia starting the Week of June 30th.   New Scouts will follow the TrailsHead program which will allow them to earn three merit badges and complete many of the requirements for Scout, Tenderfoot, Second and First Class.  Scouts will sleep in large two person platform tents or the new Adirondack huts. The older scouts will pursue meritbadges throughout the week.                   <<<<<<<<<<<<<
