The Holiday season is in full swing, Christmas is eight days away, people hurrying from event to event, parties and celebrations.  This past Saturday the Troop held an Eagle Court of Honor for Jesse Vega at the Lyon Center.  It was a Gala affair, the room was filled,  many came up to regale us with stories of adventures with Jesse and speak of Jesse as well deserving to be an Eagle Scout.  Lots of fellowship and good cheer as Scouts and Leaders from throughout Jesse's career from Pack 499 and friends from Troop 1444 can to help him celebrate.  Congratulations Jesse, for a job well done.
 
The Troop will conduct two more of these Eagle events in the next few weeks. 
 
Justin Davis will be recognized on Saturday December 29, at 1 pm At the Colesville Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall, 12800 New Hampshire Avenue, SS, MD.
 
Max Massiah will be recognized on Saturday January 5th, 2019 from 12 to 3 PM at The Lyon Center, SJB
Mark your calendars and bring the family.

TROOP ACTIVITIES
The Next Troop meeting will be held on Monday January 7th from 7 to 9 PM in the Lyon Center, SJB
We will be conducting Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review in preparation for our Fall Troop Court of Honor.  Please call me of you wish to schedule a Conference prior to the meeting, 6 to 7 PM, or a Board of Review.  301-607-8770 H,  301-728-2858 C.
 
Troop Meeting - Monday Jan 14th, 7 to 9 PM, Lyon Center
FALL COURT OF HONOR, recognizes those scouts who have advanced in rank and Merit Badges, a family event.
 
Troop Meeting, Monday Jan 21st, 7 to 9 PM, Lyon Center
Preparations for the Potomac Klondike Derby.  Each January the Troop participates with the other Troops on Montgomery County in A "Klondike Derby"  Where each Patrol competes in scouting Skill events against all of the other Patrols in the county.  It is a two night campout at Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg, MD.  Scouts will operate by Patrol units.  The Permission Slip is attached.
 
Klondike Derby  Friday thru Sunday, January 25-26-27.

Troop Meeting Monday Jan 29th, 7 to 9 PM, Lyon Center
Order of the Arrow Election.  Scouts who meet the necessary requirements will stand for election by the Troop into the Order of the Arrow, BSA's Camping Honor Society.

Fwd: Ezana's Eagle Scout Project

Date: 6/3/2019 9:41 AM (GMT-05:00) For your Attention JJW     Hello everyone, This is Ezana Mekuanent . On June 8th I will be having my Eagle Scout project for Habitat for Humanity ReStore . It will be located at 12006 Plum Orchard Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20904. At the moment this project is planned to only need one day's worth of work however if that changes another date will added (will be addressed in the future). The project consist of us constructing selfing unit inside of the ReStore center that will be used to display carpets. Due to the fact that we will be using drilling tools I will be needing the older scouts. `for those who plan to come please bring working gloves. We will be providing water and food.
