Parents, especially new members of the Troop, Summer Camp time will be here soon and it is important for your scout to attend with the troop.  Summer camp provides the opportunity for in depth training and rank advancement, the development of independence and self reliance and bonding with the other troop members.  It has been proven that if a scout attends Summer Camp he is more likely to stay in Scouting.
This year we are going to Camp Olmsted, part of the National Capitol Area Goshen Scout Reservation located in Goshen Virginia from Sunday June 30th to Saturday July 6th. 
The fee for each Scout is $375 for the week until April 12th when the fee goes up to $425.
The fee goes up again on June 1st. 
We ride the busses provided by the camp both ways and the fee is $50 dollars.
To register and pay, please provide a check made out to Troop 1441 BSA and bring it to the meeting tonight or to me by Friday the 12th to save $50.00.
 
The Mulch Sale was a big success, We sold all but five pallets of bags from two trailers.  The work was hard, the bags were heavy, but our scouts, leaders and parents did a great job.  There were so may orders the last was delivered at 10 PM Saturday night.

April 8th, Monday, Troop Meeting, Winter Court of Honor.
We will be recognizing the achievements of our Scouts over the Winter.
We will have a special guest, Stephen Donnelly, our District Executive, who will speak to you about Scouting's annual Friends of Scouting Fund Raiser.  This fund raiser supports all of the activities the Council provides for us.  Please bring your checkbooks and donate what you can. 
 
Tuesday April 9th, Patrol leadership Council Meeting, SJB, 7 PM
 
Troop Meeting Monday, April 15th, 7 to 9 PM, SJB
Troop Elections Camporee preparation.
 
Troop Meeting, Monday, April 22nd 7 to 9 PM, SJB, 7 PM
Originally no meeting was scheduled,  This meeting is needed for the Camporee preparation.
 
District Camporee, Friday April 26th thru Sunday, April 28th
 The Camporee will be held at Camp Bennett, Georgia Ave, Rt 97 above Brookville, MD.
Scouts will arrive on Friday evening, camp overnight, participate in Saturday's activities, Camp overnight and return home on Sunday.  More to come.
 
Monday April 29th, Troop Meeting, 7 t9 PM, SJB.
