Scout Sunday was a success, thanks to the Scouts and Leaders who participated for a job well done in representing Scouting to the Parrish.  Thanks to ASM Hank Keegan for coordinating the event.
 
BROADCREEK CAMP-IN
The Annual Broad Creek Father and Son Camp-in is fast approaching, (Friday thru Sunday, February 21-23).   We will be using 2 cabins at Camp Saffran on the Broad Creek Scout Reservation in Harford County MD.  There will be Scouting skill competitions between the two cabins, with special events for the Dads and scouts.  Scouts may come even if dad can't make it.
Each cabin will have a lead Scoutmaster and Senior Patrol Leader and will prepare their own menus.
We will depart for the camp Friday evening at 6 PM  either directly from homes or, if carpooling is necessary, from the SJB parking lot.  Travel to the camp should take about an hour and a half.  We will meet at the main building of Camp Safran, check in and proceed to the cabins, unpack, set up and have an orientation meeting.
Saturday morning, up at seven, (cooks at 6:30AM), prepare, eat and cleanup breakfast.
At 9 AM we will have an orientation meeting and begin the challenges.  Lunch at the cabins at 12 PM, reassemble at 1 PM for the afternoon sessions.   Dinner will be at five PM.  meeting and free evening Saturday
Hope for snow.  You may bring sleds, disks and snowboards., no metal runners.Sunday up at 7 AM, Breakfast, cleanup, A scout is reverent, Wrap up activities, Clean up cabins, depart for home at 11 AM. 
 
I need to know who will be going now so we can finalize our plans,  please reply to this newsletter whether you will or will not be going.   Thanks,  Permission Slip attached.
 
Patrol Leadership Council Meeting, Tuesday 2/4, 7 PM,  Large upper conference room.
Attendees: Any scout holding a  leadership position, SPL, ASPL, QM, Patrol Leader, Instructors, Chaplains Aide.

Want to improve your leadership skills, learn more about specific aspects of scouts, outdoor skills, earn a Batchelor, Masters or Doctorate in Scouting, sign up with the University of Scouting.  Go to the Council website (www.ncacbsa.org) and follow the drop down menus to the enrollment process.
 
Summer Camp - Camp Olmsted, Goshen Scout Reservation, week of July 5th thru 11th.
Sign ups are open with a discount until April then the price goes up

The window for campership submissions has closed, an extension is being pursued.
Please contact me if you intend to send your scout to summer camp this year.  all registrations will take place through the Troop.
 
HIgh Adventure LEN HOK SIN Trail at Goshen Scout Reservation Week of 7/12 thru 7/18.
This is the Troop's High Adventure Program for 2020.  First Class Scouts 13 1/2 or older are eligible to participate.  This is a week long backpacking event in the mountains at the Goshen Reservation with the Scouts hiking between then]me sites.  It is great preparation for future high Adventure events at Philmont and Northern Tier.
Scouts can attend Camp Olmsted and then stay over for the Len Hok Sin Trail.
Fees are the same as those above for Camp Olmsted.

MERIT BADGE DAY, MONDAY FEB 17, PRESIDENTS DAY
The troop is sponsoring a merit badge day again this year and we will need the assistance of the adults with YPT training in the troop.  Sone of you have already volunteered and we need a few more. please let me know if you can Help.  Thanks.
