Subject: 5 mile hike

The Troop is offering an opportunity for Scouts to complete the Second Class Requirement 3b, Using a compass and a map together, take a five Mile Hike....., 
This Sunday 12/14 at 2 PM,
Meet at the Lyon Center (2 PM), to review map and compass.
The Hike will begin promptly at 2:30 PM.
We will be hiking the Paint Branch Trail to Randolph Road and back.
 
 Open to any Scout who is interested in completing the 5 mile hike and compass requirement for the Second Class rank, . 
Bring the following, a day pack, 1liter of water, trail snacks, your personal first aid kit, a compass if you have one, a Poncho and  pencil/pen and paper. 
 
Do not come late.  We want to be back just before sundown at 4:45 pm.  Everyone must carry a liter of drinking water.
Mr Keegan and other leaders and parents will be conducting the event
Mr Keegan will carry a first aid kit.
Older scouts who would like to complete the requirement of teaching a skill are encouraged to come.
