Fwd: TROOP 1441 VIRUS PERIOD BULLETIN #1

Subject: TROOP 1441 VIRUS PERIOD BULLETIN #1

To All.

Our World has changed and we need to find ways to continue to carry on with the restrictions and cautions imposed upon us.  Hopefully the actions we are taking will mitigate the impact of the Virus and keep us safe.  We will be following guidance from the Government, National Capitol Area Council and the White Oak District for the Caronavirus.  The Scouting program is too important to let slip.
We are in the process of developing methods for keeping everyone informed and active. The "Brian On Scouting" website has provided a number of methods that will be useful.  The Troop leadership held an initial planning session last Thursday to identify ways to carry out our mission and keep the Scouts interested and advancing.  As a result our first actions will be:
    1.        This ongoing Bulletin, sent out at a minimum weekly.

    2.        Use online tools to facilitate and maintain communications.

    3.        Send out a Survey to all Scouts to determine what requirements are needed.
                (Attached).

    4.        Consolidate the responses to identify common requirements and develop online sessions
                For the scouts to participate.

    5.        ASMs and Patrol leaders maintain frequent contact with their members.

    6.        Set up a process to conduct Boards of Review online.

Summer Camp Signups are open for both Camp Olmsted and the Lenhoksin Trail.  April 14th marks the end of the discount period,  $385 for Scouts, $225 forAdults, Bus Extra $50.

Keep talking to your Scouts, encourage them to work on advancement, read the book, pick Merit badges to work on.   Send me an e-mail if a Scout selects a Merit badge he wants to work on and I will mail him the names of counselors to choose from and a Blue card.  The merit badge counselors will have adopted a method for working with each scout.

We are also working with the Packs to assist the Webelos in joining the Troop.

Stay tuned for more Bulletins, and if you have any suggestions that may be of assistance send them to me.
